Holly Cannoli, We’ve found an apartment with such luck, its unbelieveable. The first apartment we saw was just perfect for us but we wanted to see all the possiblities, we got through 2 more and decided to give the owner a call. And we got it!
Our new home will be located in UnterGiesing, approx. 10 minutes by foot to the Kolumbusplatz U-bahn stop. The apartment was completely rebuilt 2 years ago and has a bedroom, bathroom, livingroom, balcony facing southward, kitchen with a door, and separate foryer. All the windows have a rolling outside shade that blocks out all the light at night, you could even sleep in the kitchen with complete darkness, weird. The floors are parquet and tile in the bathroom and kitchen. The apartment area is approx. 60 m² (or 664 ft²) and comes with ~30 ft² protected storage and a underground parking space, just for Mr. Vicious. The monthly rent is 627 Euro, but with NB, nebenkosten, that means, heating bill, water, parking space, it comes out to be 800 Euro per month. An excellent find! Way to go, Alex!
Saturday, Max invited us to join him for a performance of La bohème, an opera in four acts by Giacomo Puccini to an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa, based on Scènes de la vie de Bohème by Henri Murger. It was spur-of-the-moment and seated tickets were sold out 6 month in advanced. We scalped some tickets at the door and managed standing tickets at the very top, left of the stage, for 9 Euro a ticket. It was my first opera I have ever seen and it was sung in Italian and it was supertitled in German. It was a bit of work, but overall an interesting experience.

Followed your link from your xanga site. Good to hear that you found an apartment. I was happy to read that you also find some difficulty with the German language (einzahlen etc) with being taught formally, doesn’t make me feel quite as bad as I’m trying to teach myself (cost around here is outrageous).
