French Party, XP, and BMW 5 Series

So I met Lukas from Koln…I hope we get to visit him this easter weekend because I would like to see more of Germany. (I was hoping to see my Uncle Craig there too, but I don’t know if he’s coming) Lukas was our first over-night guest and he said our futon couch was surprisingly comfortable.

Saturday, we celebrated Claude’s 30th birthday at his apartment. It was a mix of 80% French and 20% German/other, speaking-wise. But the atmosphere gravitated toward the french sterotype. Why are french-speaking people such snobs when they group together? Well, I guess I can’t blame them, french sounds better than german, in most cases, but come on…ignoring, turning away, and avoiding without making it look accidental is just sad. Claude was sympathetic and wished it was better mixed but that’s the case with most parties, right? So in retaliation, Alex and I spoke, em, English. Sinnful.

I’ve switched to XP, finally. The german version. I kept getting too many blue screens which then lead to rainbow screens. My computer’s a little slower now with multiple applications running, but what can you ask from a 6-year old Dell Dino. But, she’s still purring so I’ve definitely got my money’s worth.

It’s been a dreary, cold day. yuck :-/ Alex stopped by the apartment with the BMW 5 Series Test Car and showed me what he was working on. Alex is responsible for 5% of new engine design (about 650 pages of design code for the air/fuel ratio development) that will be placed in about 20 different car models next year.
Oh…and the doc said nothings wrong with his Thyroid but to keep it from growing she recommended a diet with iodine.
