A week after ACL surgery

I rant because I need to. I’m thinking I should have been content to be fat and sedimentary. Then the likelihood of tearing an ACL is slim to none. But then the thought of one day being plagued with Type II Diabetes and losing a self esteem battle isn’t probably the way to go. Getting my ACL replaced has been tough. There were a few times this past week I cried from the vile cumulation of frustration and pain. Sprinkle a little PMS to the mix, then you get ultimate Miss Pissy. But today I have a feeling that I’m over the hump and on manageable road to recovery. Wie Dok K gesagt hat, “Du hast die OP überstanden!” Endlich kann ich sagen. “Ach. Ja!”

Dok K. temporarily relieved my swollen knee, aka “beluga whale with a tan” just this morning. This time the big needle received 38 milliliters of knee tears. Last Friday it was 30 mls. My life revolves around needles at the moment and this is not a good orbit for me. Yesterday, I sat on the toilet for twenty minutes, needle in hand, sweaty palms, heart pounding and I couldn’t do it. I had to wait until Alex got home to get the injection. He did it perfect last night.

Now I need to buy an anti-sexy compression stocking to keep the swelling down. I knew I should have kept the ones I got at the hospital. Teach me to listen to the cutie nurse. In a view minutes, I got to get my turtle groove on and make my way to Sport Therapie Zentrum for my first day of reha. End of rant.

In the meantime, I had little time to write in the past and now the Oktoberfest is done and gone. I didn’t miss out this year although Marko did. Next time he’ll leave his motorcycle at home and not bring the rainfall with him. It’s also in agreement that the Deutsches Museum is in bad need of a major dusting and make-over. Anyway here are some photos taken before my surgery.

Thursday 27th Sept: Mandy and me at the Augustiner Zelt. We sat with the Greeks. Then were joined by a group of friend from Seattle.

Saturday 29th Sept: Tavia and me at the Nymphenburger Zelt.
