and as I ponder while taking math notes:
come the butt-crack-of-Wednesday dawn
just to whom will I be making a toast?
For I image a whole lot creatures will be stirring
the whole world wide, haha, yeah even a mouse,
to usher in a new president
who’s sure to rock the White House.
Okay, where on earth did that come from? I’ve been reading so much German I needed a corny rhyme to ease me back into this blogging thing. Sorry, about that. I’m also in a hazy mood considering I passed out half way on our beanbag 4am this morning after a binge study session.
I desperately needed to catch up on my course material especially after so much numbing time spent at the dentist office. On top of playing the party planner role for Saturday’s tex-mex and margarita evening, I was juggling quite a bit in my skull.
I had a blast learning about and making tons of tex-mex food -homemade tortillas, homemade refried beans, and homemade salsa just to start. It’s so freakin’ easy. And what was left over made for an excellent hangover-curing brunch after a night of hard core margarita mixing. It’s a shame I didn’t take pictures of the spread before the carnage. But I believe the smiling faces say a lot. That I can be happy about.
Despite Alex’s pessimism our guest were amicable to a game of hezamarie’s German/English Pictionary. I hope it wasn’t too painful for the participants.
So a warm thanks to Eva for helping roll tortillas and Petra for taking over the task of distributing margaritas as the night progressed.
So, I’m hoping to have something to celebrate tomorrow. I’ve baked a cake just in case. (Well actually I just wanted chocolate cake regardless but still it would be a treat to have baked for um, say a cause.)
I’m going to my very first Election Party in Bogenhausen with some other Expats tomorrow. I get to check this off my list of yuppy things to do after 30. (I even donated the few dollars left from my US account to the Obama campaign. yup, I’m a mondo yupster.) I’ll also admit I’m plagued with curiousity as to whether or not I’ll make it beyond the 1 AM east coast poll results. okay, okay. If this is the extent of my complaining, I have it pretty good.
So good nite, sleep tight! It’s going to be a interesting Tuesday..

Hope you made some frosting to go with that cake…
Great party! Thanks for having us.
No cake for this Weight Watcher. Your party looked fun! Oh how I miss Mexican food, but it is full of bad points!
I think we’re going to be OK tomorrow, well today in Oz, fingers still crossed.
@julie: you betcha, I made a dark chocolate ganache
Our pleasure, glad you could make it!
@mb: try making it at home with dried beans etc, that’s how I got things to be vegetarian friendly for some folks.
@AFM: fingers and toes!
