Hi All, Thanks so much for the responses on this one :)

Hey Laura. Like drape cleaner, I find corn starch is not the easiest thing to come across here. So why is that we newbies pick out those items so easily on those first rounds of shopping? It boggles the mind!

No Deb, I'm still dissatisfied with the whites situation. Heitmann has a few products to get the dinge out, but clothes washed in the stuff smell like they got a perm at Fantastic Sam's still days later.

I think I saw Oxy-Clean at the store or was it Cillit BANG?

"Rough day in the slammer"? OMG, I am still laughing.

To get whites really white again -- I have had fabulous luck with Oxy-Clean. Soak the fabric in a solution of Oxy-Clean and hot (originally) water overnight or even longer. Even gets old yellow stains out of pillowcases. Do they have that, or the equivalent, in Deutschland yet? If not, a long soak like that with another product may do the trick. I think it's the time involved, and using hot water in the beginning.

So did you ever find something to get your whites white? I have the same problem here. I've tried straight bleach, but it doesn't do it either.

Love the music clip, but love the Chaka Khan version even better!

Nice! About a month after I arrived in germany, I was certain I had found cake flour, when in fact it was corn starch. Good thing I didn't bake the cake with it! Nice to find your blog! I'm in Ludwigsburg at baroquebabies.com
