Although the Isar river was a tad swollen and looking a little like beef stock after some wicked rainstorms earlier this week, today proved a good day for the first spontaneous Flaucher grill out of the year. Plans were going well but throughout the day allergies were slowing me down.
According to my pollen alarm app, grass pollen followed by rumex, rye and a little bit of something called plantago turned the air into an invisible, aversive soup only my nose and eyes detected while the others ate, drank and talked without worry.
Even the daily dose of fexofenadine was proving useless as I blew through packs of travel tissues. Only the smoke from the grill provided a half an hour of relief, enough time to enjoy the tasty goodness of aromatic Thai chicken with grilled corn and asparagus.. apropos.. the FKK men sunbathing at the end of the island curiously sat 10 meters from one another in a way that could have been interpreted as a coy ritual. Both packed up their stuff simultaneously and left seconds from each other, one rode away on a bike missing a bike saddle. I say, viel Spaß.
But I digress, don’t let me keep putting off getting those allergy shots.

Dude, seriously? It sounds like a joke! Along the same lines as the one about the two nuns biking down a cobblestone lane…
