Ugh! I feel for you! When we moved to Belgium I was advised to exchange my Florida drivers' license for a Belgian one. Then when we moved to Michigan they didn't recognize that one and I had to take the US drivers' test and practical test all over again!

Luckily this time it was easier-- at least the German drivers' license is plastic and fits in your wallet. Some of the other European ones are big pieces of paper and look like they could have been made in Uncle Charlie's garage... ;-)

Good luck with that test. I hated it. I just hated it...and passed with the worse possible result.

You're luckyu, obviously Germany has more respect for Florida driver's licenses than Britain. I have to take the practical, which I've already failed once despite driving for nearly 20 years in the States!

phew...boy am I glad that pennsylvania has full reciprocity.. all i had to do was bring a translation (which I got from a private translator for 10 euros by the way... a piece of advice for future drivers license applicants..;-)) and they printed my license. Now all I have to do is learn how to drive stick...
