eggzactly what's it for?

Here is my wenige Wörter (almost wordless) Wednesday post. I get that in Germany a dozen eggs is a pack of 10. Although most of the time organic eggs are sold in packs of 6. Which is good because my new German fridge is made to hold 7 eggs. Why 7 egg holders, eludes me?

    I've always thought the Germans were odd - now I have evidence.

    So what would you do with the 3 extra eggs that come in the 10 pack?

    Ugh, on another note, Obama's momentum is waning due to the whole Reverend Wright sermon. The media is totally pouncing on this.

    yeah, it's hurting him quite a bit. it's not the racial slant, rather the 'anti-american' slant. they say his pastor of 20 yrs has been spewing hatred, so how does that affect obama? and paired with his wife's anti-american slip up taken out of context, it's not good for obama.
    but who knows what it'll be next week...

    Wow, that is German efficiency at it's finest. It's also reminiscent of the "Father of the Bride" where Steve Martin buys hot dogs and hot dog buns:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0101862/quotes

    I'll tell you what I'm doing. I want to buy eight hot dogs and eight hot dog buns to go with them. But no one sells eight hot dog buns. They only sell twelve hot dog buns. So I end up paying for four buns I don't need. So I am removing the superfluous buns.

    @ Mai: The last fridge had no egg holders either. I guess I shouldn't complain.

    Thanks! From a writer, that means a lot! We'll have to meet up sometime!

    @Gardner: Ha! It's a universal phenomenon.
