- I was born and grew up in Tampa, Florida.
- I have one sister, my parents are still married 34 years.
- I am the eldest daughter, sister, cousin, niece, grandchild.
- I went to the University of Florida between 1996-2000.
- There I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering.
- Previous jobs: selling camping equipment, cashier, customer service clerk, toxicology lab technician, soils lab gimp, intern for special interest, server, water resource engineer…
- I’m not big on academics, simply because I’m horrible at being someone’s bitch.
- Having said that, I’m studying Wirtschaftsinformatik (Business Informatics) in Germany taught in German. I will be someone’s bitch very soon.
- I’m also seeking employment (aka dream job) in Munich.
- I’m still in potty training when I comes to writing. Thus the blog. Practice will one day make mediocre.
- Places I’ve lived in Florida: Tampa, Gainesville, Sarasota, Gulf Port, and Venice.
- I also lived in Charlottesville, Virginia.
- The only car I have owned: a Saturn for 10 years, her name was Christine (as in Steven King’s novel) and she mellowed finally at menopause.
- I drove a Datsun 280zx and a Toyota minivan in high school.
- I’m pretty content with public transportation and my bicycle to get me around since living in Germany.
- I own a red/yellow, 15′ Dagger. That’s a kayak. I named it Rotfeuer.
- I’ve kayaked parts of the Everglades twice. Once with just my girlfriend Pinger, the other time we brought Alex along. Island/ chickee hopping rocks.
- When I moved to Germany, I didn’t have the heart to sell my kayak.
- Reasons I like Germany: more vacation, better climate, close to so many different countries, better health care system, enlightenment.
- Reasons I miss Florida: my past is still there, family, friends, sunny days, the Gulf, white sand, smiling/nodding strangers.
- Reasons Germany could be better: (1)Munich were on the Gulf of Mexico so I could eat a grouper sandwich. (2) Decent Mexican food or if it must, Taco Bell.
- Reasons why I do not miss Florida: Fcking hot, permanent A/C, snowbirds, retirement mentality.
- Since living in Germany I have had more contact with alcoholics than ever before.
- I prefer not talking but I have my verbose, goofy moments.
- I have an obscure sense of humor, thus I cannot tell a joke to anyone’s liking.
- The funny faces I used to make are no longer funny. At 30, these faces cause an ‘ew, don’t do that’ reaction.
- I can’t stand when others can’t take what they dish out.
- I don’t react to cockroaches or other insects, unless they are touching me.
- I hate killing anything. I’m not capable without going through a moral dilemma first.
- I don’t drink enough water.
- I was addicted to sugar as a kid, up until the age of 14.
- I prefer salts over sweets. Funyuns are my disgusting weakness.
- I prefer vanilla milkshakes over chocolate ones.
- I eat vegetables, meat, and seafood. ew. no bugs. consciously.
- I love, love, love to cook.
- Fine sauces intrigue me. (French style).
- Yes, give me cookbooks on techniques.
- I knit. Just not very fast or regularly.
- I especially like reading books recommended to me.
- I hate margarine spreadable, romance novels.
- I took a day of ballet, several months of jazz dancing, and a year of gymnastics.
- I used to love competitive running in high school, but I was always plagued with shinsplints.
- At my worst. I needed 8 tablets of ibuprofen a day to walk to class.
- I now prefer
Ultimate Frisbee, mountain biking, kayaking, and hiking.
- I tore my ACL in Feb 2007 during an indoor ultimate frisbee tournament.
- I love water skiing and knee boarding when given the chance.
- I’ve snow skied twice in my life and liked it, except the outfits frighten me. I prefer snowboarders gear.
- I could listen to music of all genres for hours and hours and never feel exhausted.
- However, most 80s and pop wannabe country music sits in a blackhole and will drain me of my life’s essence.
- I have played the violin and viola, I own both instruments too. I love the guitar.
- I miss writing music. I’ve lost a lot of theory in 10 years.
- Lifetime list of artsy I’ve seen:Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Train, NKOTB, Paula Abdul, Janet Jackson, Counting Crows, Dave Mathews Band, Better Than Ezra, The Iguanas, Bob Schneider, Eric Clapton, Les Miserables, Cats, Adam Sandler.
- I prefer small jazz concerts and classical orchestra to big ticket stuff.
- I’ve been to a rave in Miami. Couldn’t make it a habit.
- My sign is Capricorn.
- If I must label: Humanist/Agnostic.
- I dislike religion, though some philanthropic aspects of church should be maintained.
- I like the feng shui idea of organizing.
- Growing up, I was exposed to Baptist, Methodist and Catholic viewpoints.
- I found the novel, “What Dreams May Come” by Richard Matheson fascinating.
- Still, I can imagine no heaven, no hell. This brings me peace.
- My parents took lots of photographs of me throughout my life. I protested but now I’m grateful.
- My first two years of life, I lived in a 55+ community trailer park.
- My first memory was looking into a toy box and seeing
dead cockroaches on the bottom of the box.
- When I was 4 y/o, I broke my right arm because I wrapped the swing chain around the swing set to get a shorter swing radius. I don’t remember falling and breaking my arm.
- I have worn glasses since 5th grade.
- Growing up, I always felt pressure to lead a ‘good’ example.
- I have been ‘disowned’ twice.
- When I was 10, I ran 10 miles with a frisbee in my hand for the March of Dimes. I had never trained in my life. As the youngest of the group, I was the fastest to complete the ‘walk’.
- I attended a lot of schools growing up, even though I stayed in the same house for 13 years.
- From age 13 to 16, I mowed lawns for a ‘living’.
- I didn’t go to my high school’s 10-y reunion because I was living in Germany. Still not sure if I would have gone otherwise.
- I’m in love. With Alex.
- I was struck when I saw his smile in a crowd of people at Tampa International Airport.
- That was 5 years ago.
- We are so very happy.
- That’s all I’ll say about that.
- I believe people should pay taxes and more if you earn more.
- Marriages/weddings/having babies/gift-giving has become too commercial.
- I’d agree to handfasting.
- I’m okay with people who have babies out of wedlock.
- I’m leaning toward becoming a parent, but not yet.
- I don’t listen to old wives’ tales so don’t try to convince me without some logic.
- In most matters communication is of higher importance than waging war.
- I am neither pro-choice nor pro-life. I am pro-health.
- I am against the death penalty everywhere.
- The time to stop picking at old wounds to make a point is now. I believe the only way to further curb the oppression of women in western societies is for women to stop adopting a victim mentality.
- I’d like the ability to move objects with my mind.
- Though, I’ll settle for a solid ability for conveying empathy.
- I want an active dog and a lazy cat.. when I’m retired.. maybe sooner.
- I’m not a fan of horses. But I don’t mind feeding them apples or carrots.

- In my 70s I will take up motorcycling. Helmet optional.
