Backyard view, first snow of the seasonLast year, the first snow fell in Munich on November 18, 2005. I saw frost on people’s cars this morning and it is forecasted a 70% chance of snow fall tomorrow.
Are you big wig scientist and politicians out there sure we aren’t heading to an ice age?
I’ll let you know about the ‘Niederschlag’ situation tomorrow. All I know is I want my 26 degrees back :annoyed:

Last night I left Alex at home to study for his defense, while I met up with my friend, Eva, first at the Union Bräu to catch up on the previous month’s happenings and then to the Unterfahrt for a Jazz concert by Norwegian jazz singer, Solveig Slettahjell and her band the Slow Motion Quintet.
Seriously, if you get an opportunity to see her and her band perform live definitely take it, you won’t be disappoint. Sure the cd is great but there is nothing like being physically captivated by the music, involving all our your senses (almost, unless you want to smell the musicians.)
However, I think some of the listeners had a hard time paying attention because the music made quite a bit use of silence and an almost andante tempo. Two women in front of us keep whispering, moving, giggling and annoying pretty much everyone around them without a care. Just before they left after the second set started they lit up cigarettes, ignoring the no smoking policy and the imploring from their neighbors. :nono:
On a softer note, Solveig (don’t ask me how to pronounce her name) is a beautiful singer. I’d have her sing me a lullaby every night if I could. Here, you can have a peak.

View from my neighborhood.Well, that was 10 days, it sure went fast. My family is somewhere over Frankfurt right now, most likely getting well adjusted to their comfy seats. :greyno:
If feels abit strange that I’m not planning for the day’s event. Now, it’s just me, studying, cleaning, and bloging. Just as they arrived, the leaves were turning their fall colors and reached its peak on Monday. What Munich held back from me last year in terms of good weather, it certainly made up for it while my family was in town this year. Here I was warning them about a potential freezing climate before hand, only to be countered by German’s record high temps for this season. You’ll hear no complaints from me, although the heat did get unbearable for those Floridians used to the pleasures of A.C. All in all, I hope they enjoyed their time here. It was definitely a treat to show them around the place I call my home away from home.
So now visiting hours are over. Now it’s time to plan for the winter holidays, with our trip to Florida, and leave Alex to study for the next six weeks for preparation of his Doktorat defense and oral examination. The approval to take his exam and turn in his thesis was given 3 days ago on Tuesday. Now its chomp, chomp time!
