Alex arrived last night from Regensburg by train. He forgot the key to the apartment/building so he waited for me outside. I was running by the Isar‘raging’ River and didn’t realize the time. My regular route was closed off. Normally I run across a foot bridge over the river but it was closed because the river water was flowing over the weirs and splashing against the boardwalk deck. Normally its about a 15 foot drop to the water level from the deck! I heard on the radio the water level in the Isar rose 5 Meters within the last week. This is all the water from the mountain range on the southern border of Germany. The 50 yard field next to river that I normally run along is completely covered by chocolate milk. This is apparently a common occurrence here in Munich, but normally in the Spring when all the snow melts off the mountains. Tomorrow, I will take pictures and upload them later in the week.

Alex left for Regensburg a few hours ago to return to work. He came to Munich to work on his dissertation. He’s almost complete with the thesis and a little nervous. Getting a PhD is extremely intensive work and I am proud that he pushing his way through the jungle. You’ll be okay, Babe.

I will take the train to Regensburg tomorrow. I need to purchase a ticket after class at the Hauptbahnhof. That means exercising my language skills with the natives, which is a little harder. Today we ate a Turkish lunch and our Turkish waiter friend asked if I really studied about 10 hours a day. He doesn’t speak Hochdeutsch (the equivalent to the Queen of England’s English) so I didn’t get that he was saying “Stunden” or hours.

…Anyway back to studying.
